Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library after my friend recommended it.
I actually have enjoyed several books by this author before. This wasn't my favorite… the first part of the book seemed a bit too "simple." I thought the characters didn't really act the way people act in real life, and some things throughout the book seemed pretty unlikely. It got better, though, as there were glimpses of the emotions within some of the characters. That made it worth it, although I wish the author would have explored that part more. But there were definite moments of "Ahhhhh" where the story just hit home.
I was surprised by some twists in the story and also by the ending. I finished it and thought, "Whhhaaaatttt???"
There are two more books in the series, though, so I'm sure things will resolve eventually… unless my predictions are totally off. I'll be watching for them to make their way to the ebook library so I can have that satisfying ending, and probably also get to know the characters better. :)

A Heart Revealed (Josi S. Kilpack)
Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library because I'm a big fan of the author. And I waited a long time to get to the top of the list!
I really enjoyed this "Proper Romance." It sure had a different twist than most books of that genre, as the protagonist had Alopecia Areata, a medical condition that results in (in this case) a total loss of hair.
Looks like there is going to be a companion book about another character from the story, and I'm looking forward to that. It's pricey for preorder on Amazon, so I'll keep my eye out at the ebook library for it. No doubt I will have another long wait, but it will be worth it. I've never been disappointed in a Josi Kilpack book, as far as I recall.

Why I have these books: A friend recommended a book in this series, and because I'm OCD, I had to read all the books previous to the one she recommended. Luckily, they were all available on the ebook library, and I'm still waiting for the one she told me to read! (I read and reviewed The Inn at Rose Harbor back in 2013.)
A couple of those books are actually novellas, and they have weird numbers in the sequence, like Book .5 or Book 1.5. Whatever that means.
These are good, light reads and I'm enjoying them. There is one continuing storyline though all the books that's got me a bit uptight (in a good way) and I can't wait for the next novel to be available (the one my friend told me to read) so I can see if it gets resolved.
Clean. I think there were 2-3 mild swear words between the 5 books I've read so far.

Why I have this book: I've had it for years… I bought it for an old book club, then my current book club decided to read it. I was fine with that, because I love it.
I believe this is the third time I've read the book. When I was reading it for the old book club, it felt familiar to me, but I never did figure out when I had read it before. In any case, it's a wonderful story, and I highly recommend it.
The author has written other books, but I can't figure out why they show to be available on Kindle, until you try to purchase them. That page says they aren't currently available. I need to keep an eye on them, because I would love to read more of her works.

Even more books leaving the house...
Okay, so I got rid of a lot of Church manuals. The thing is, they are all available online or on the Church's app. I don't need them taking up space on my shelves!
How about The Complete Book of Food Counts? With apps and online info, it is definitely not necessary to have a book to look up calories and carbs and all that.
365 TV-Free Activities You Can Do With Your Child. I have had this book for so long… probably 20 years. I have a bit of sentimental attachment to it, but again… the Internet. How about Pinterest? More ideas are out there than any family can ever use. I don't need to take up space on my bookshelf with this.
I love the way it feels to get stuff out of the house!

More books heading out the door...
I actually am reading… but at a slow pace. Other things are taking up my time right now.
But I did a little bit of cleaning out of books. I know it really doesn't matter to anyone but me, but here are some books that are heading out the door today. They are all children's books.
Spot's First Walk. My kids have outgrown it and it's getting a bit worn anyway.
Say Boo. My kids snagged it from the school library last year when they were getting rid of stuff. It can go.
Working Hard with the Mighty Dump Truck. My older boys enjoyed this one! It's great for that stage where kids are enthralled with trucks of all kinds. But the cover is missing and my kids have outgrown it. I think I'll pass it on to my grandson.
Budgie the Little Helicopter. Yes, the one written by Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, in her early married years. My mom gave it to my kids back in the day. (That was when the Royal Family was all the rage… the Diana and Fergie Years.) It's cute, but I can let it go.
The Kingdom Come. Okay, so I thought this was so sweet back when I bought it. But reading it as a mom of an adopted child… it just doesn't tell everyone's story. I would never buy it now, so off it goes.
Bang! Boom! Roar! A Busy Crew of Dinosaurs. This alphabet book was a recommendation from the kindergarten teacher. It's fine, but we've outgrown it. My dinosaur loving granddaughter will like it!
Froggy Loves Book. Cute and loved, but we can let it go.
Thank You, Pooh! Cute book that will go to my daughter with the new baby girl. I think she'll appreciate it, since she likely remembers it from her own childhood. (I love Pooh Bear!)
The Truck Book. Another one that the grandson will like. His daddy used to like it, too!
Flying is Fun! A Little Golden Book whose main character has the same name as my oldest son. It was published the year he was born. I'll see if he wants it for when he has kids. If not, it will go to the grandson who is already here. :)
The Airplane Book. Another one from when the older boys were little. I'll see if our grandson can have yet another book from his daddy's childhood.
The Little Stream. This is a beautiful book written with a poetic flow and lovely illustrations, but it's just not loved enough here. I'll share it with our local "Little Free Library."
So there you go! It feels good to have a few less books in the house. We have SO MANY children's books!
Oh… and one other book:
Is There Life After Housework? This cleaning book written by a professional housecleaner has lots of good tips… but it's not a book I pick up anymore, so I'll give this to the library, too.

Unexpected (Karen Tuft)
Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library.
Maybe it's my brain (I have a bit of a cold), or maybe it's the book. I can't say for sure because I didn't finish. I was at about 50% and I still really didn't care what happened next… although I'm pretty sure the ultimate finish would be that they end up together.
