Why I have this book: I bought it years ago for Kindle... and I think it was probably free or under a dollar or something.
I really enjoyed this book for the most part. It would have been a solid 4 stars on Goodreads, except toward the end of the book, it's like the author hurried it up and left quite a few editing errors behind. (Like using the wrong name a couple of times!) The ending wrapped up a little too neatly, but the book definitely kept me entertained. I gave it three stars on Goodreads.

The Maid of Fairbourne Hall (Julie Klassen)
Why I have this book: I think I bought it on sale for Kindle. I have enjoyed lots of books by this author, so I'm sure that was part of it, too.
I liked this book. It was a nice, relaxing read. Nothing too deep about it, but it kept my interest and was a great camping book to have along. I gave it three stars on Goodreads.

Love and Muddy Puddles
Charlie Franks is A-OK
Why I have these books: I got the first one free thanks to one of those bargain ebook sites, then after I read it, I saw that the second one was also free, so... why not?
They were actually pretty good. They are written for the pre-teen to young-teen group, but they were written well enough that I enjoyed them, too. They were clean (yay! no swearing in a book meant for young people!) and didn't have any gross sexual content.
I'm giving these 4 stars on Goodreads because the author kept the books G-rated, her writing kept my interest, and because I'm trying to represent how a younger audience would rate them.

The Mountain Between Us (Charles Martin)
Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library on the recommendation of a friend.
The story was very compelling. I was super invested in knowing what was going to happen and how. The ending threw me for a loop. All of that made me want to give it 4 starts on Goodreads.
I went with 3 stars because I didn't find the female lead very likable, and some of her focus seemed a little far-fetched considering the situation they were in.
I also was surprised that they really would have survived the journey they made, but what do I know?
Pretty clean, although there was some suggestive conversation/thoughts. I don't recall any swear words, which is always a bonus.

Beyond the Bright Sea (Lauren Wolk)
Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library, but I don't remember how it came to my attention.
I liked this book so much. I might even be tempted to say I loved it. It was so easy to get lost in the writing, and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. I pretty much read it in a day because I didn't want to put it down.
I gave it 5 stars on Goodreads, but if I had the choice, I probably would have gone with a 4.7. It's so hard to only have the option of whole numbers!
The extra nice thing about this book is that it is clean! I don't even recall a mild swear word or anything suggestive at all. Yay!

Mormon Girl Incognito (Kari Iroz)
Why I have this book: It is the sequel to A Date With Danger, which I enjoyed a lot. I bought it for my Kindle.
I liked this one a lot, too. There was definitely a corny moment or two, but it was easy to overlook just because I liked the characters so much. The feelings they had were relatable even if the dialog was awkward in those couple of scenes.
Both books had unlikely scenarios, but I don't care. They are fun books, and it's super easy to get lost in the stories. I will keep my eye out for more of her books.
Clean, with some intense physical attraction and tension described.

Lady of Milkweed Manor (Julie Klassen)
Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library because I enjoy this author's books.
This is Julie Klassen's first published book. She has improved as a writer a lot in the years since, but it was still an enjoyable read. I felt like the story was kind of predictable (and not always believable), and there could have been more depth of emotion in some pretty traumatic events, but all-in-all, it wasn't bad.
It was interesting to learn about "foundling" hospitals and wet nurses from that era. I'm so glad I live now.
Clean for the most part, although the main character has a baby out of wedlock and how that happened is very mildly described.
