Why I have this book: My friend convinced me to give audiobooks a try and this is one she recommended.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Malcolm Gladwell has a wonderful voice which makes listening a soothing experience. The stories included are interesting and the points he is making are fascinating. I would have given this a solid 4 on Goodreads if there weren't so many F-words. Granted, he only used them when he was quoting someone else, but I really don't want to hear them anytime. I'm sure he could have edited them out if he wanted to, but I realize that most of the world doesn't find it that offensive. In any case, I gave it a 3, but wish I had the option to give it a 3.7 or so.
In any case, I'd probably listen to more of his books and hope that they don't have the F-word in them.
Clean, with the exception of the profanity he uses when quoting others. I honestly don't think he used profanity otherwise.

Keep the Home Fires Burning: The Complete Novel (S. Block)
Why I have this book: Because one of my shows (Home Fires) was cancelled after the second season, and this novel was supposed to tell the loyal show followers what happened. And it did... but not all the way. I guess another novel will be published in August, 2018.
In some ways, I really liked this book. I was able to totally picture each character, and they were written the way they sound and look on the screen. I liked "hearing" their thoughts, which helped me to know them better than I did from watching the show.
I wasn't fond of the storyline with Teresa and Annie, and that's why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 on Goodreads.
There are a few mild swear words, and too much focus and detail on a same-gender attraction story for my taste.

Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library.
I gave this book 4 stars on Goodreads. It was super intriguing and I could hardly get my nose out of it today. (Good thing my college class is over!) The ending was a bit perplexing and initially felt like kind of a letdown, but after mulling it over, I like the idea.
The book is clean for the most part. There are a couple of mild swear words. There is a rape and a sexual assault that are slightly descriptive.

Why I have this book: I bought it a while ago on Kindle, but decided to "read" it through the audio book option available through the ebook library.
First of all, I think I have a new option for "reading" all the non-fiction books on my Kindle. They always tend to get pushed to the back of the list in favor of fiction books. Listening to them gives me the option of using my cleaning time as "reading" time. I've thought of doing this for a while, but my friend, L, finally convinced me to give it a try. Since she's as voracious a reader as I am, having her stamp of approval on the method propelled me to move forward! I was able to cross-stitch, clean, and fold laundry while listening to this book, and it was great.
The book itself was good. I gave it 3 stars on Goodreads. I liked it, but didn't love it enough for a 4 star rating. Still, I'm glad I "read" it. :)

The Christmas Joy Ride (Melody Carlson)
Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library. It seemed like a good way to get in the Christmas spirit.
This was a cute book, if not a little unrealistic when it came to the "love story" part. Still, it was a nice light read just for fun.

Why I have these books: I borrowed them from the ebook library (best thing ever) so I could finish up this fun series.
I enjoyed both of these books as much as the first three. I was surprised to find that the fourth book was about the grown-up daughter of the characters in the first three books, and I was a little disappointed by that at first. I quickly got sucked into the story, though, and enjoyed having these two engrossing books to read as a fun escape from the busyness of this month.
Mostly clean — there were maybe two mild swear words between the two books. There is also a small sideline about a same-gender relationship.

Where We Belong (Lynn Austin)
Why I have this book: I borrowed it from the ebook library because I've enjoyed so many other books by the author.
I'm sorry to say this one wasn't a favorite at all. It was tedious for me to get through. I really don't have much else to say about it, other than I finished it and I'm really pretty glad to have it behind me.
Clean. There is a bit about women working in a brothel, but it's not glorified.
