Why I have this book: I checked it out of the ebook library because it was one of a series.
This is the second book of the series that I was giving a chance, even though the first book only warranted one star in my opinion. I could have given this book three stars except for a few things:
1) The main character is completely different than how she was portrayed in the first book. It just didn't seem like an easy transition from who she was before to who she is now. Granted, a couple of years had gone by and she probably matured, but still...
2) Crass. Seriously, Debbie? Who is your target audience? Probably mostly middle-aged women, and we don't talk like Shawntelle, nor do we appreciate it. (Okay, so I'm speaking for myself, but I'm betting a lot of other women would agree.)
3) Rocco's comment about growing a female part just because he's acting sensitive and kind. Again... seriously, Debbie? Not really that funny.
4) I also wondered how Nichole went from being the wife of a very wealthy man to not having any alimony or child support to support her current life. That didn't make sense and was never explained.
5) I also didn't see how Nikolai was attractive at all with all his whining.
Anyway, I could probably make a longer list, but I won't. As I said, I would have given it three stars on Goodreads, but the crass comments dropped it down to a two. The writing was better than the first book in the series. I won't be reading the rest of the series, though.
Morally clean... I have to at least give it to Debbie that she kept everyone out of the bedroom... other than the cheating husbands, but you don't go there with them. There are a few suggestive comments and the crass comments were really uncalled for and totally unnecessary to the storyline.
